High Level Overview

I am excited to share the details of a fitness app that was created using a combination of AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, SES, and CloudFront.

  • The app is designed to help users track and improve their fitness goals. The backend of the app is powered by AWS EC2 instances, which provide the necessary compute power to handle the user’s data and perform complex calculations. AWS Lambda is used to run serverless functions that perform tasks such as sending notifications and updating user profiles.
  • Data storage is handled by AWS S3 and DynamoDB. S3 is used to store user-generated content such as images and videos, while DynamoDB is used to store user profiles, workout plans, and other data.
  • To ensure security and user authentication, the app uses AWS Cognito. Cognito allows users to sign in and access their data securely, while also providing multi-factor authentication options.
  • AWS SES is used to send notifications to users, such as reminders to complete their workout or updates on their progress. CloudFront is used to distribute content to users, providing a fast and reliable user experience.
  • Overall, this fitness app is a great example of how AWS services can be used to create a scalable and secure fitness app. The combination of EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, SES, and CloudFront allows for a seamless user experience, while also providing robust data storage and security features.

As a Cloud Architect at Wegile from 2015 to 2018, I led the development of this fitness app using a combination of AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, SES, and CloudFront. During the development process, I faced challenges such as scaling the app to handle large amounts of user data, but was able to overcome these challenges by utilizing the power of AWS services.”
